Hello,

I am looking for a powerful CPU cooler and silent. I understand that the Noctua NH-D14 was a fantastic cooler. I am currently equipped with a Corsair H70, which gives me satisfaction but makes a noise incredible enough. I changed the original fans for models Noiseblocker and I reduced their speed by changing the BIOS setting. They are at 1300 rpm which is better but not good enough. I have an excellent Asus x58 Sabertooth and I checked the video of Tom that I can install the Noctua while having my PCI slots available because I use them all.

But I ask myself a question: I'm with Corsair Dominator RAM and I saw the video that Tom uses Mushkin RAM. Do you think I can safely install the cooler without disturbing my RAM?

Thank you.

PS: sorry for my simple English vocabulary.

You may just have to remove the top off of one of the ram sticks (red bit)

Tom thank you for your time and speed at which you reply.

So I can easily install the Noctua without touching my RAM which has cooling fins black, smaller. After carefully watching the video, I think strips Mushkin are not higher.

I have another question: I'm in no hurry to make my purchase. Noctua will not have a new cooler provided in the near future ?

You need to remove the fins. If you mean the old dominators where the fins are not removable then it will not fit.

I was looking at getting a Noctua NH-D14 but saw the issues people are having with the height of their RAM. If you go to the Noctua website they actually have a compatibility list:

http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=c...s_id=34&lng=en

You’ll notice that the Dominator RAM will work if you remove the top heatspreader (as Tom said above) held in place by the three screws:

Hope that helps

Thank you for that. I trust Tom, who regularly influences my choices, so no problem. Thank you all both.

Hi all, Im aobut to buy an Asus P6X58D Premium, Noctua NH-D14 and Crossair Dominator GT. Will they fir the same way as in the foto from Beto???

Or I really need to remove the heatshink or one of them??

Will that void the warranty?

Thanks all.

it depends on the motherboard as spacings are different between the CPU and ram, you may have to remove one of the tops but it doesnt void waranty
