I posted a few pics in the Rigs section and was oped by Tom to come over here, so I have.

This is going to be a dual boot system running both Windows 7 and OSX. She'll be focusing mainly on silence so I'll be undervolting the CPU rather than overclocking it. I have done the overclock route in the past, hoewever that rig was rather loud.

Anyways, on with the build.

Boxes, Boxes, Boxes!

Inside the Case

Fan Controller Installed

First two of 5 2TB mounted in their brackets

And now inside the case

Seasonic PSU

I really like the badge!

Inside the case, upside down

Fixed!

PSU screwed into case

We all know what this is for

The Third 2TB Harddrive sitting in it's rat's nest

The Side Panel off

And now on

The arse of the case

Front

Front with fans

And now just the case

That's it for now

Obviously I can't commence further into the build, because I'm not a VIP and don't own a Sandy Processor. I'm also flying across the country for the break, so that makes it a lot harder to work on the case . However, I'll complete this build with it's release. I'll also install a few updates of me stealing the DVD drive out of the other computer and such.

Specs:

Bought

5x 2TB WD Greens

Fractal Design Define R3 Silverarrow

Seasonic S12II 620W PSU

Going to Buy

Sandy Bridge i5 2500

Asus Mobo

8-16GB DDR3 Ram depending on pricing

A boot drive (either a WD black or an SSD)

Possible a Noctua cooler for the CPU depending on how loud the stock intel heat sinks are

Now there was a comment about the VAT and how I should buy my parts now. However, I'm Canadian so none of these taxes has an effect on me. Though I will say, Hello from Canada!

The Internet can give one a variety of things. On top of that I have quite a few GBs of programs and photos.

Well, some of you probably saw that I had to RMA my motherboard and CPU. I figure in the mean time I'll post some more pictures

The RAM

The GPU

Case ready for the (next) motherboard

Boot drive, picture was taken this way to avoid photographing the serial number

CPU cooler, the fans pretty loud on this so I'll probably replace it with a noctua in the future.

loving the silence as this is what I aim for ill try get some pictures up of my build next week you getting some internal hard drive enclosures? I use one for main drive and have 2 out of enclosures for windows back ups once a month(music/recordings etc.) Nearly went for that case myself but ended up getting a Lian li. I cant bring my self to buy anything else nowadays. That msi is ment to be a good cooler for silence ive read, and good bang for buck, nice purchase

Thanks for the positive remarks, I cannot wait to show the finished product when the last of the parts come back (from RMA)

Some more parts installed:

Another 80mm Front Fan to cool the 6 HDDs

The DVD Drive

Really nice rig you're building, won't those 80mm hdd fans make a racket though.
