I am currently experiencing lag issues and low performance in windows 7. I get lag when I type, I get major lag when scrolling through web pages and I cannot view any flash content without lag. I have updated all my drivers and bios to see if that made a difference but I am still getting performance issues with Windows 7.

The power supply that I am using at this precise time is a 600w OCZ Stealth X Stream 2 as my current Power supply - Seasonic X-750 is currently getting repaired as it was D.O.A.

I do not know what is causing this lag whether it being faulty drivers or faulty hardware but it really annoying. I have kept everything on stock clocks until I get my Seasonic X-750 replaced. I don't know whether the 600w OCZ Stealth X Stream 2 is struggling with my system or not.

On my PC everything on Windows 7 works fine and is very fast with my OCZ Vertex 2 SSD apart from the annoying problems listed above. I have reinstalled Windows 7 twice then installed all the drivers but I am still getting major lag.

My system specifications are in my sig.

I am sorry If I have not given enough detail but it is really annoying to type with lag.

You need to uninstall your ATi drivers.

download driver sweeper.

use that to remove any remainder of the the drivers

reinstall Cat 10.10's and then post back dude. (you need to do all 3 steps)

I have tried the steps above and I am still getting the same results as before. everything seems to lag but somehow I can watch live TV on BBC Iplayer without any lag.

I have sent a technical enquiry to Asus regarding the lag I am getting. I don't know whether it is a problem with the latest drivers for my GPU.

Have you got your old GPU to try?

It lags when I am moving windows as well. I don't know if this is related but one of my CPU cores is running at over 50% when my system is idle and when I looked in the processes in the task manager I could not find anything what was utilizing the sixth core. For some reason at idle my CPU usage never goes below 10%. I am now thinking it may be a motherboard issue.

Everything is at stock. I am going to reset the cmos once I have had some sleep and see if that helps.
