Is it possible to install my GTX280OCX in my spare PCI-E slot and just have it for folding whilst leaving my 5870 totally independent for general day to day use and gaming.
Thinking just having the 280 as a separate folding unit but don't want it interfering with the 5870 and causing problems.
Will save building a separate folding rig.
Thoughts ladies and gents please.

I think you will get a major driver(setup) conflict but to be honest, i am not 100% sure 
but i believe i have been reading about this on the FAH forums.. BRB

yeah mate that wouldnt be a problem just remember when u set up the clients for fah u set the flag in the target as -gpu 1 so it doesnt try and use the 5870 to fold

yeah mate just install the full drivers, not sure how the newest ones are but the old whql ones are good i still run them myself

Ok both cards are in and no conflicts.
Drivers installed. Driver Version 8.17.12.5896 - nVIDIA ForceWare 258.96 Driver Date 09/07/2010
Now going to install the client.
Will let you know how I get on.
Oh... should I stop the folding on the CPU? as that's got all four cores at 100%??
EDIT - well the clients folding now as we speak, just need to know how it will work with the client on the CPU running at full steam.

u will be fine folding with both of them mate the 280 gettin old gpu2 wu's wont touch ur smp performance at all
