Nice! We should expect stock performance between the 5850 and 5870 then? I wonder how it will clock and how it will be priced.

Well they certainly need to be pretty aggressive pricing wise. You only have to take a look at the 460 to see why.
I am amazed Nvidia haven't come up with anything else recently though. I mean yeah yeah, they could be waiting to see what ATI do, but waiting has been their downfall of late.

Well if that's the case and they are priced accordingly the 460 ought to be very worried.
TBH I would strongly imagine that ATI are aiming at beheading the 460. Nothing else really has that sort of a lead over any of their similarly priced products.

It may well, but compared to gamers folders pale into insignificance. This isn't about spending billions of dollars on a card that can fold dude. These cards are made for gaming, folding was just something that happened.
If you look in magazines, on the net ETC none of these cards are reviewed on their folding abilities. And I'm sure ATI won't lose any sleep over that. Selling cards for folding won't keep Nvidia afloat.
However, price does concern me. ATI haven't even really tried to bring down the 5 series prices. The 5770 costs about £5 less now than it did when I got mine in Jan and I am pretty sure they are not going to be anywhere near close to costing what the comparitive 5 series does because it will make the cards obsolete overnight and piss off every retailer there is.
Mind you having said that I don't know if ATI are still selling stocks of 5 series and they may have stopped production already.

Im hearing the usual TWICE as powerfull as the older model..... That would put the 6770 up above the 5850, and would make a VERY interesting 6870 v 480 review /cough cough
