i have a serouse problem

with out going in to detail me and the misses had a major barny few days ago, i thought it would blow over but she still saying i gotta sell me rig :S, erm ideas how to change her mind lol, as this rig is to good to be selling

This is a part of being married mate. I went from buying a complete new rig every two weeks (when I worked in a shop and got everything trade and made loads of money) to using a Celeron on an Asrock motherboard.

And that's how it stayed until my wife left me.

I literally had that horrible Celeron machine for closing in on four years.

A relationship is about sacrifice and give and take. I don't know the ins and outs (nor do I want to) but sometimes you gotta do what's right.

You won the OC3D gear right? In that case tell her that part of your contractual agreement with OC3D when you won the prize(s) at i40 were that you was not allowed to sell or swap the components given to you by us for at least 1yr (technically there is some truth to this!).

The reason for this is that most components were imported into the UK as 'product samples' and therefore no import duties were paid. Selling the items for a profit is therefore illegal and would at minimum require you to pay import duties and VAT on the items.

That should put her off

If she can't understand that you like computers, and that it is something you enjoy playing around with in your spare time, then I think you just need to have a serious chat. She probably likes shopping lots, just explain that its the same for you, but with computers. If she doesn't understand that, then she is obviously too egotistic to realise that you have needs too, and you should get rid of her!

The news section is for industry news and the like (you'll notice it's mainly my domain). This type of thing would probably go in the Off-topic section, perhaps Rants or Serious Discussion.
