power fan conector

I have an Asus P6X58D-E58 motherboard, that has a POWER FAN CONECTOR on it ,WHAT IS THIS FOR?

Some power supplies have a fan header on them that is for monitoring the power supply fan. You'd would connect it to the power fan connector. Any fan should work on it though.

Thanks for quick reply but will this give power to the fan or just monitor it? Am new to OC, have got a lot to learn my man

It will give power to a fan yes. Usually the connectors coming off the power supply for this type of thing don't have the wire for power, just for monitoring the RPM.
