Please help me decide on one of these laptops!

Manufacturers and personal preferences about each manufacturers ability to build a decent laptop aside.... I am trying to decide performance wise what is the better deal.

The first laptop is an HP Pavillion with a Core i3 & 4gb of DDR3

OR

an MSI w/ a Core i5 & 4gb of DDR2

The MSI is slightly less expensive, yet has the better processor.

My question is, what will benefit me more? Better processor, slower RAM, or slower processor, faster RAM?

Thanks for the input!!!

If its the i3 330m and i5 430m id go for the i5 with ddr2 personaly, as the turbo boost on the i5 (bumps it up to 2.53Ghz) would off set any performance difference due to the ram i would have thought, it also has the virtualisation unlike the i3.

Thanks again for the help yall.

Got my laptop a few hours ago, and too my surprise, the specs listed online and in the store were wrong! This baby actually came with DDR3 that's faster than the DDR3 listed for the i3 laptop I was looking at.

Great day!

Love this new rig, it should definitely do me right for school.
