Motherboard Splash Screen

I need some help, my mum's pc sometimes gets stuck on the motherboard splash screen and its only happened recently. Her computer is about 2 / 2.5 years old and it just seems kind off random to do this all of a sudden considering no settings have been changed lately.

Specs are

Asus P5D Motherboard (Not sure which version)

Core 2 Duo Conroe 2.13Ghz (One of the older models, not sure specifically)

2 x 1GB DDR 2 RAM

Sapphire X1950 512mb

320gb Hard drive

Not sure on anything else, but what do you guys think could be causing this, should I reset CMOS or something like that?

Could try resetting the CMOS. Remove all USB devices and try start up the computer.

Yea I think its the HDD because it won't work in my PC

And if I take 1 stick of ram out how does that affect the HDD from working?

Thanks for you help though

He said about the RAM since it could of been either. I had this problem and it ended up being the USB's. There was a bios update which fixed the problem.
