Help me pick out right DDR3... Please

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I OC'ed anything. Athlon 64 was the last time.

I'm putting together a new system and I'm looking for the right ram for this setup. I want to OC as far as I can go, buy I'm on a budget.

$120 Cdn roughly, is what I have left for ram. (2x2G)

System:

EVGA P55 FTW

Core I5 750

EVGA 9800GT

OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W

Thermaltake Kandolf Case

WD 640MB Black

Klipsch Pro Media Ultra 5.1

I'm looking for the best ram I can get for OC this system... with the change I have left.

I was told that Ram is going up again, so I hastily bought Kingston Value ram for $115. He will trade it in no problems.

Am I asking too much?

Thanks!

Any of these three would be my choice:

G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 1.5v

G.Skill ECO DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24 1.35v

G.Skill ECO DDR3-1600 7-8-7-24 1.35v

Who told you ram is going up again? If it was the guy that sold you the Kingston ram he might have been lying to you just to sell some ram

Actually, I just found this on NCIX.com website:

"March 24, 2010 - ***IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MEMORY PRICING***

Due to recent volatility in memory pricing, we cannot honour pricing for memory that is not currently in stock. Until further notice, any memory orders that are back ordered with us are subject to cancellation. "

yes, the lower timings are better, 1600mhz c7 is about equivalent to 2000mhz c9.

these look good: http://ncix.com/products/index.php?s...acture=G.Skill

Aim for the fastest memory for your price. look for 1600 7-7-7, 1866 8-8-8 , 2000 9-9-9 etc. The ram above seems the best deal and its low voltage 1.35v

Those are the third one in my post, and it's cheaper from the Egg (well, tax depending I suppose). Anyways, if you're willing to put out the slightly higher amount, that set would be my choice. Pretty well proven clockers.
