Cannot work out the settings to unlock cores with Asus M4785TD-V Evo and AMD X2 550

Hi

I just received some new kit and can not work out how to sucessfully unlock another 1 or 2 cores on the CPU.

I have the following:

Asus M4A785TD-V Evo

AMD Phenom X2 550

Artic Freezer V2

Here is what I tried with no sucess:

1. Update the BIOS to the latest

2. Into the BIOS and enabled Advanced Clock Calibration and Unleashing Mode (by default it runs on 4 cores)

3. Reboot - but NO post

4. Manually changed the CPU Over Voltage (which I assume is Vcore) to 1.34375 and rebooted - but NO post

5. Changed the Unleash Mode to 3 Core (0,1,2) and reboot - but NO post

6. Changed the Unleash Mode to 3 Core (0,1,3) and reboot - but NO post

Can someone please tell me what I have missed or if I am doing something wrong?

Many thanks!

J

I do know if your cpu does not have a quad or a tripple code it wont work.

Not all CPU's are capable of being unlocked, some really are just duals.

AMD Phenom X2 550 and 8GB of OCZ Gold?

OK. Answer is YES!

I struggled for ages to get Windows Server 2008 to install on this spec. Turns out I had to manually set the memory settings to the following:

Memory Timing & Voltage

- Memory Clock Mode 800

- DRAM Timing Mode BOTH

- TCL 9Clk

-TRCD 9 Clk

- TRP 9 Clk

- tRTP AUTO

- TRAS 20 Clk

- TRC, tWR, TRRD,tRWTT, tWRRD, tWTR, tWRWR, tRDRD, tRFC0, tRFC1, tRFC2, tRFC3 all set to AUTO

Thing is, my RAM is OCZ Gold 1333. But I only get the option to go to 800 in memory clock mode. Any ideas?
