Jeez that's a tough one. They'd have to be pretty darn quick and yet suitably cheaper than ssds as the article says. (seen=scene)

Do wonder that perhaps they bother trying a SATA6 controller and a proper cache.

Sounds quite promising tbh. While I like SSD's, they are still a bit of a pain in the arse to keep at optimal performance even with garbage collection and all the other gubbins.
