One of the upgrades we are working on ATM is upgrading the forums the the latest version. The new look forums really do bring everything bang up to date, one of the draw backs is the lack of upgrade modules.

So just a heads up when the new site goes live 01/01/2010 there will be NO chat box. There is nothing we can do about this untill the module is available either.

When or should I say IF the chat box returns it will be for small talk only, any members found using it for content that belongs on the forums will be infracted. Consistant chat abuse will lead to a chatbox ban.

So please remember, chat is for small talk.

The chat box is what brings most of the chat to the forums tbh. I guess it's a fair point but what if someone needs a quick help like does anyone have a link to the download of X. Would you class that as small talk? I hate being picky, what would you class as small talk since I have no clue lol.

Or even if we will tbh dude. But we cant do anything till the module is available.

If we have to resort to threats like this you might just as well leave it out even when the module becomes available. Apart from a few bots and extremely new members there has been no need for infractions at all, why threaten with them?

There has actualy. Chat box is not meant for quick threads. The forum is for posts. If people keep choosing the chatbox over the forum then either they will not be able to use it OR the chat box just will not be there any more.
