Wich Cpu will give better performance for gaming?

2.3 Ghz AMD tricore or 3.0 Ghz Intel core2duo

I have to choose between these two and don't know what is best. There isn't really a big price difference.

The core 2 duo, most games only use 1 or 2 cores so a third is quite useless. The C2D is probably an E8400 which can be overclocked fairly easily too, giving it even more of an advantage.
