Powercolor 4870
Bougth the Powercolour 4870 some time ago now and it is a good card however... it does seem to run at quite high temps, (currently have ATI overdrive on with manual fan control at 37% and it's running at 50-55 degree and the fan is driving me insane (i like quiet)
Can anyone suggest a new cooler for it that can easily replace the powercolour factory cooler?
Cheers in advance.
Oh.. Price not fussed about just no one suggest water cooling... That's another project.

The reason why they are hot dude is they have digital pwm's so with air they will never be really cool.

Even with PWM is should surely have some life in the fan. i have never seen it run above 15% fan speed without enabling manual fan control.
Youngie, do you use the ATI Overdrive with manual fan control or just let it sort itself out?

Well, I would trust the manufacture and just leave it on auto. Graphic cards are designed to take the heat I wouldn't worry.
I have seen my GX2 over 100oC and completely stable.

It's not so much of a worry more a i'd like it to be cooler and quieter.
w/c is going to be something i look at for my next project if i ever get round to it. (Carbon fibre & Titanium custom case)

I leave it to auto, like someone said they're designed to get hot, your temps are fine tbh, set it back to auto .
