Netbook
I'm after a netbook for uni - looking to spend £150 to £250 max
I really like the look of the Dell Mini 9n, especially as there is a £199 option. However, this only comes with a 4GB SSD, and there is no option to get a larger HDD without adding on £100 =/
Any other recommendations?

I've had an Asus EEE for over a year now with a Ubuntu OS and I've been nothing but impressed. In spite of only having a 4gb hdd I've never managed to fill it, so I'd say if you plan to use linux I'd say the 4gb isn't really a restraint. One of my mates has the Advent derivative of an MSI Wind and it's a really nice piece of kit, bigger hdd too.

Hmm
I've been drawn toward the Acer Aspire One's - 1GB, 120GB, Atom CPU, XP, for £170 odd

I've just been having a look around and there are so many available, which looks like good news as the specs are much better than my EEE which I paid £200 for.
On the whole whatever you get it's a great purchase for uni, probably the most useful thing I've bought. Tied with a louder alarm clock

Why not just grab a 8 or 16GB SD card if you need extra storage? Or a few 8GBs as you can get them for £12

It's going to be a present, so I think they'd prefer buying a new one for the money extra as opposed to getting one with a damaged box
And I've got no cash at the moment to buy the extra 512MB of RAM so if I go for the extra 512MB I'm still within budget and I get everything I want without having to pay for it myself

I got one of these. Apart from being awesome all round its got one major drawback, which is making me to think of switching to asus or Samsung. Battery life, it sucks. 2hours at best i manage.
