There's a great bunch of these being prototyped by a number of manufacturers.

Sure the enthusiasts are necessarily going to be seeking them for main pc thrills. But for the footprint size of them, they're an ideal pc for those not interested with messing with computers, and still want all the net, office, media stuff.

Games ?.... I bet u could get away with playing WoW pretty well on them. Crysis... eh.

BIG factor is pricing. They have to be around or under console prices, very easy to keep your docs whilst restoring them when they crash.

Overprice these (and the others that come out) and they'll all fail. Johnny won't get one for christmas.

Pricing is a very big factor.

If Windows Media Centre works on this flawlessly (someone slap me hard and tell me it does) then it would also be a competitor for a home media centre (coupled off with a networked hard drive).

Hook it up to your TV somebody plz.

Nice to see the Atom + 9400M combo. Hope to see some ITX motherboards with this combination as well as whole mini desktops and netbooks. We already have Atom 330's paired with the 945GM on Mini ITX but the heat output and power consumption of the chipset compared to the atom is just silly.
