That was just for show. They usually just sit on top. I left them on their too long once and it took ages for them to reshape.

I got 4 AC Ryan 12" UV Cathodes on mine it will definetly give it a nice glow!

Looks nice!
My only complain is that yours looks a bit on the pink side and mine looks a bit on the orange side.
It's so hard to get red tubing that actually looks red especially under UV. I almost went with black tubing on my last purchase, but stuck with red to give it another shot. I might just change it to black next time.
