4770 Cards Catching On

These chips are the start of something really good for ATi, the 48** series got them started, and i cant wait to see what 40nm brings on the high end scale, Quad X-Fire on 2pcbs with these cards would be nothing short of epic

Dual PCB's wont happen, and quad fire as with quad sli doesnt really scale well. 2 cards max is all anyone will ever need.

Its the general idea of 4 cores on the one card, if they ever really sort folding out on ATi GPU's would be quite cool

Ati's dont fold as the folding core relies on shaders. Thats also the reason why the ATI folding client uses the CPU core to make up for this lack of power it needs.

Unless ATI's completely redesign there architecture or the F@H boys rework the client it wont happen.

And all those cores on 1 card will never game well, there can be such a thing as too much imho (unless its paint )

The HD 4770's doing pretty well. It's not too far off the HD 4850 and once we see the price of it falling nearer the £70 mark, it'll be quite a good purchase

Would be a very good budget buy, would only need some one to make a full cover waterblock for it and it would get snapped up.
