Does anyone know where they are?
Like you have a favs folder for IE bookmarks/favs but is there one for FF?

I'm pretty sure it's Ctrl + D on most browsers.
You may also want to look at http://www.foxmarks.com. It's a surprising handy add on, especially when you realise you saved all those reference links on another comp.

It's in the menu bar.
Press "alt" and press "B" then go to recently bookmarked.

You two have misunderstood the question, he is looking for where the files themselves are located, to back them up
