"Out of Range" message on first boot ???

So, i have just finished a new PC and its all running fine. However when i turn it on its fine until loading wondows at which point the monitor just shows a message saying "out of range". If i then turn off and back on its fine so its not like the desktop is the wrong resolution as it works the second time.

The Graphics card is a 7950 GT and the Motherboard is an ASUS A8N SLI.

Any suggestions ???

Cheers

This problem is usually down to two things. Either the resolution is set to high in which case it should revert down to the lower settings or the Hertz are set to high in which case your monitor may not be able to display the image.

As for a cure, I really can't think of a way to fix it at the moment. I'm sure someone else will be able to help though.

There we go, just my little input for the day

If you press F8 just after the BIOS has posted, before the Windows logo comes up, choose 'safe mode VGA enabled', you can then change the resolution on the display properties to a workeable one. If you are not sure what your monitors max res and refresh are, go 1024x768 and 60Hz, that should be OK until you figure out which is the max. Once you have done this, just reboot and set the best res from the display properties again.

Thanks for the input guys.

My resolution is 1024X768 and 60Hz but they both work the second time after a turn off and back on.

I cant work out why it only does it when i first turn it on ???
