Project: Angel

Sponsors so far:

Case:

PSU & Fans:

Movie Intro
Project: Angel

I'm still on the lookout for a watercooling sponsor so if you feel you can contribute email me at Richard at overclock3d dot net.

Time for a new project me thinks. The base of this project will be a Mountainmods Ascension, powdercoated in Sky White - soon to be reviewed at Overclock3d. It will then form the chassis for Project: Angel. The case is in the process of being built by the guys in US of A and should be powdercoated this week.

The colour theme I will try and stick to will be White/Blue, matching both the motherboard and the ram I already have.

I'm still in the planning stages of this but here's the spec accumulated so far:

Hardware

Intel i7 920

Gigabyte EX-58 UD5

2x6GB (12G Patriot Viper DDR3

Asus Xonar DX

2xGTX280

3x Samsung F1 1TB (3TB total)

Watercooling

2x DDC Ultra 18w + XSPC tops

2x Thermochill PA 120.3

Spec will be added to as I go along.

For this log I plan on doing the basic picture + text log and finish off with a video blog of the build.

I'll update the thread as and when new bits arrive and a progress of the mods I hope to do.

Let's get it on...

I'm undecided whether to plump for another GTX tbh.

Well it would be rude not to

I told you i love mine its running nicely at 3.4ghz and will run on 3.6ghz (ALL ON STOCK COOLING)... like i said Some unlucky i suppose got stuck with slightly less able ones btw how come you opted for GTX280 and not GTX285? im assuming you already own 280s then?

You guessed right. GTX285's are just die shrunk 280's with a higher stock clock speed, watercooled 280's easily clock to 285 levels so it made little sense in upgrading. The only other upgrades I would consider are the 295 (too expensive) and the 4870x2 (too red lol!).
