Safe maximum load temperatures for a Pentium 4.

Hey, I know Penitum 4's are old. I managed to find out that my computer from about 2 year ago can overclock. Messing round with the settings I've managed to get up to 3.28Ghz stable.

Ran Prime95 and it seemed to have no errors, my main question is what is the maxamium safe load temperature for a Penitum 4? I ran HWMonitor whilst running Prime95 and I was hitting 76oc.

I know I haven't given you much information on what chipset or core the processor is so I've included a screenshot from CPUz to give you an idea of the processor in question.

Thanks.

Intel processorfinder for the win. You're already over the safe max. vCore though, 1.4v.

Had to take a little guess concerning the CPU type, but the stepping and cache match.

Yeah the motherboard isn't the best. I haven't touched the vcore its seems to fluctuate up and down between 1.4v and 1.3v.

But thanks for the link to the processor finder.

Yeah but you'll be keeping some P4's a lil cooler than that soon.

I wouldnt want it going to much over 65C really. I just upgraded from an old 3Ghz P4 myself a month or so ago and made sure it stayed below 60 under load. 76 sounds an awfully high temp!
