nVidia have accounced the Ion, a HTPC that can pretty much fit in the palm of your hand!

its just a great htpc, i thougth it would be weaker (like most of the new mobile hardware, but its pretty good.)

also i didnt like the atom it used on one of the versions, and i just hate when they do more than one...

It's not a retail product, it's not for sale, it's just a demo of the platform. Nvidia would like that integrators use their chipset with the Atom and the dual core Atom instead of the Intel chipset. Which does make sense, 1080p on an Atom would be nice.

This means new nettops that would be a little better then the ones we have now. But Nvidia doesn't say how much it costs to pare up their 9400m with the Atom compared to what the Intel chipset + cpu combo costs. Intel has an act of offering big discounts on combos.

For now it's just a box that says to the big manufacturers out there (Asus, Acer, HP, Toshiba, Sony, Lenovo) that there is an alternative to the Intel chipset for the Atom.

and that chipset can decode full hd whilst using 20% of an atoms power. i dont think there are any others anywhere near this, let alone the same SFF.

as far as I have read Intel are saying a big no no to this,they do not want the atom to get away from them(maybe they should put a decent chipset with it then)as it stands at the moment Nvidia are flogging a dead horse.Will dig out the link where I read that
