Alpha-Tango-Charlie-Sierra - Jim

When Jim mentioned he wanted afew bits doing to the uber new and sexy Cooler Master ATCS 840 I jumped at the chance.

Some long msn chats later the colour was chosen, Jim wanted Kameleon Cyan to Purple, its one of the lesser used colours due to the cost but has an amazing array of colours. The chassis will be powdercoated black as this was one of the main gripes he had with the case when it was reviewed.

The logo above came from me thinking that the front of the 840 looked like a riot sheild!

Customisation

Professional Respray - Kameleon Cyan to Purple

Custom designed watercut window

Powdercoated black internals

Some pictures stolen from the Review

Now I was going to the watercutters today (saturday) and Jim being Jim sent me the case thursday so I could get it cut on saturday with the other stuff I had. Luckily for me it was just the window that needed cutting and I already had that drawn in cad ready, I just needed some measurements.

I would normaly hide the drive bays if possible but jim wanted his window square looking and he wasnt bothered about the drive bays at all "bloody big window" was the brief so heres what I come up with.....

on the cutting bed

A show of pic, loving the small radiouses now

and on the case just so you can see

Now Ive got to strip the case fully tomorow (sunday) as the chassis is going to be powdercoated next week and the externals are going to have its magic paint applied too!

Looking good.

Can the water jet cut bezels too or does it have to be flat panels?

I must say I am amazed at the clean cuts the water jet can do without burning the metal like a laser cutter does.

The cutter has an abrasive in it so the edges do need a quick whip over with a file and some wire wool, but there is much less heat and stress on the panel compaired to a laser, this means I can cut for longer and much much closer together with out warping.

.... but YES I can cut bezels

Ive seen it on cars and Ive seen the tester cards but I cant wait to see it on a case, you could be sat next to a purple case, get up walk across the room and look back, then its green and blue!
