Right I've got a 1GB 8800gt,

Going to stick the 8800gt into my new project.

SO i need a new GFX, x]

I was looking at THIS

Ive got the 8800GT model, so i wonder if its worth the upgrade, will the performance differ that much?

If not, could you suggest a sub £175 card.

Not too fond of ATI's but if shes a good performer, let me know.

There's a new review out, apparently, the 9800gt is the same as the 8800GT, just with a new badge on it. An ATI 4850 for £110(ish) or a 4870 (150-220) might be quite good. A 9800GTX+ is about £150 or less. I think the 260GTX is a bit pricey (£200 or so). The 9800GTX+ is an overclocked 9800GTX which should be quite good. TBH the best bet is a 4870 512MB. Nice spot on that card, I couldn't find anything cheap (and in stock) on scan or Dabs, or aria or MD so I gave up, should have checked Ebuyer. Then again its not one of my normal shops because its to far away to drive if something goes horrifiaclly wrong.

Yeah I checked Scan 1st and they had 1, just not in stock.. beauty with the eBuyer may be cheaper postage too. Don`t know POV too well tbh.

Generally I buy from Aria or MD, cos thats free postage and sameday delivery using Diablo courier service. (Yes I drive in and get the stuff)

I dont really want get the 260 as theres the 280 out, seems pointless really, coz it will just get outdated wen the prices of the 280 start to drop.

9800GT is the same as 8800GT, but it has 3 way sli support.

Wait for the 1GB 4870's, they are faster than a GTX280 in some games and stomp all over the Core 216 GTX260.

Definately get the 1gb 4870, looks like a decent card. If you really can't wait though, i'd go for the 4850 for around £100
