Project: Redemption

Hello

Welcome to my project log, i will be converting my apple mac G5 case in to one that will be used for PC parts.

Ive always liked the Apple cases but never like Apple's OS

I wont be doing much story teling but will hopefully post loads of pics so you can understand what i did

Ill be happy to answer any questions and cant wait to hear your feedback

Heres a few pics of the case,

Day 1

As you can see there is a little scratch on the front (looks like a dent) its a minor problem.

I Never expected the case to be so small!

Day 2: The Big Clean

OK so i set about trying to find a work place, where i cant be distracted or make mess in the house

My Solution!

The garage

After 12 Hours of cleaning non-stop! No lunch no break! 3 cans of coke, 1 bottle of water, 5 cups of tea, some biscuits and 6 bags of rubbish it looked something like this,

I just need to get a table or work bench in their then i can get started

Design Ideas

Ok so i started on some design ideas, i have noticed that nobody has painted their G5 case on the net and hoped to be the first (stop me if im wrong hehe)

Anyways i will probably get the case powdercoated, Let me know what you think

I will probably spray the interior yellow and Im planning on cutting a window on the other side and get the window etched with the apple logo, but that all depends on how well the interior turns out, as their isnt much space in their!

I have started Modelling the case in Google Sketchup (well trying).

And I will post it here as soon as I complete it; I hope to have it done by tomorrow if all goes to plan.

This is where I’m up to guys, I think I’m doing pretty well since this is my second day!

All your criticism, and advice - helps alot!

I want to know how you would do it!->

• HDD Rack doesn’t support normal HDD's so need to change the position

• Where to place PSU

• Where to place watercooling parts!

• Best way to replace/change the I/O ports on the back of the case
[/LIST]

Let me know what you think

How about red+black if not. Red + yellow always reminds me of ketchup+mustard.

EDIT
