A random and non relevant question to Overclocking but I thought I'd pick your brains anyway as you are all very clever.

What do you think the best brand laptops are for 3D design and CAD? Both demanding applications and requiring high performance as well as stability.

I bought What Laptop magazine but wanted some opinions please.

I know Toshiba are well known but don't really know much about laptop makes. I know the hardware inside is the key but build quality is also important.

Any help will be appreciated.

Id say some kind of quad with a decent graphics solution. Perhaps a Dell XPS laptop or similar - targeted for gamers

There's a few laptops about with Quadro GPU's in, all depends what sort of price tag you are looking at and how intense the CAD is you plan to do. Are you going to be doing alot of rendering and using drawings with alot of objects in?

Well I've done some research and will be going for a custom Dell.

The key things are a graphics card based on a QUADRO chipset which is designed specifically for AutoCAD, rendering, 3D modelling etc rather than games.

Also a lot of RAM, 4 Gig, Fast HD, 7200 being the fastest rpm you can get in a Dell and a decent CPU, Intel Core 2, 2.6 Ghz.
