to my knowledge this doesn't work... any SPDIF IN on pc's i've not had working yet, someone mentioned a minidisc player in that thread you linked and i've tried that before and it doesn't work the signal is copyright protected to my knowledge or at the very least 'macro'd (same thing but with audio) basically i don't think you can do it :S

what is the signal coming from?

I have 2 sources that I`ve tried. 1 is the ix38 pc, coming from an Auzen soundcard spdif out, and the other is SkyHD spdif out. Both show as copy free, valid, and show sound bars going up`n`down on the input device thing.

No audio tho.

Both work fine if I put the Xfi creative thing back in.

(but there are MORE issues with this sound thing, that I`ll need another thread for)
