8pin bluetooth module

hey i own a Acer aspire 3000...when i bought it i was given a internal bluetooth module and i was told i could attach it to a 8pin connector on the motherboard...i am a total noob so i wanna know will connecting this adapter be easy? i have been told of people blowing up their mother boards by accidents because of static on their hands....what is the chance of this? ...should i just take it to a professional?
