Iv got my gf's father laptop here and she wants to use it. For some reason there something wrong with the keyboard.

Its got some weird function where you press a button (fn) and it makes the other symbols on the keys appear. for example . O now = 6. P now = *.

Its stuck with this feature on. iv seens someone turn it off before but havent got a bloody clue how to do it.

Anyone know???

Are ya sure you've not just got Num Lock on?

Try holding down shift and Fn. That used to do it on my old lappy.

If it's a dell, then Fn and f11 should turn the Fn-lock off. Try it anyway.

Other than that, search the manufacturers site for a manual, or mess with the boot.ini

happens with the school laptops, you've got numlock on... fn + numlock
