BIOS password laptop

Right i have a dug out an old laptop which i have but have forgotten the BIOS password I know on a desktop pc its just as simple as shorting the circuit or taking the CMOS battery out. But i am not sure how easy (if possible) it is to do this on a laptop. Any advice people?

Often depends on the make mate. I remember some of the old Dell's had a master password that Dell could tell you if needed. Not sure about other makes tho.
