Temperature software

Hi there

Come across my first problem with my new system.. finding the core temperatures!? All I want is something to give me an idea of the core temp before I start overclocking.

I did a quick search and came across this..

http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthr...=temp+software

Is this still the case? As I can't seem to get the uGuru to give me any kind of readout.. I get this..

Which is in no way useful. Speedfan gives me incredibly optimistic core temps of around 20 degrees. I tried Coretemp, which crashes the system without fail. Everest proves equally unhelpful. I'm pretty sure it's not going to overheat or anything like that. I'd just like a reference temperature etc to go from for overclocking.

Thanks in advance for any help !

Cheers

Ali

i don't have a lot of faith in tools of this nature.

consider a digimeter with a temp probe attachment.

Use a program called everest. If your computer crashes its cause your bios is protected and since the program is trying to get the temps from there ur computer locks up. Well I know thats the case with laptops.

Thanks for the suggestions.. just downloaded and tried the TAT but that was another non starter. Didn't crash the system like Coretemp though

Not being able to access the BIOS I think is the problem as the motherboard has a uGuru chip which is what the Abit software is specifically made to work with. But in this case, made not work with..

Grrrr.

I may look at what BIOS I have on here and may update if necessary..

Thanks guys!
