ever since i got my new psu i have had so many cables around my case its ugly, since i do not have very many legacy drives i shoved all the unused ones into my CD bay drives and tied up the loose end with cable ties. can anyone give me some good options to get rid of these messy cables

well i am no expert but you could try and pass them ex. behind the mobo or you could sleve them. or both at the same time

Try routing you cables round the back of the motherboard and also using the HDD and CD drive bays to hide all the cables coming from the PSU. I go behind the drive bays and come in from the side to get tidier:

Here's mine and I have loadsa wires to contend with!!

ok thanks alot kempez

I feel the best way to make your case look good through cable tidying (although XMS will disagree) is to make sure nothing covers the motherboard or anything in front of it.

The small things like HSF cables can be routed behind the actualy heatsink.

ATX power cables should be pulled tight and the slack should be kept near the top of the case.

use the floor of your case effectively. This is true for graphics cards fans especially. route the molex connector under the card itself, to the back of your case then along the floor of your case providing you have enough wire (I have extensions for this)

IDE cables slack should be stored in the drive bays or under them and any slack from the top ones should go at the top of the case.

Optical power cables slack should also be stored at the top of your case.

once you have routed the cables where you want them to go, use cables ties to tie them all together. tie them to drive bays, each other and anything that will hold it to the side of the case or where you want it.

USB headers and front panel conectors slack can all be stored behind the motherboard, just use sellotape for this.

any case fan wires should all be routed around the edges of your case to avoid a cluttered look.

the main points to abide by....

any slack cn be stored at the top of your case if possible and then be made to look good up there with cable ties.

NEVER route a wire directly across the motherboard unless you HAVE to, always use the outside of your case.

and finally USE CABLES TIES! they are truely sent from god.

damn this better help or ive just wasted 15mins of my life.

here is my beauty....

nope, dont need one. i gots a flash drive which is a bazillion times better. as soon as we can boot from em they will be the future :)

wow...lookin good! i ofcorse dont have ne un-used PSU cables:D:D:D thanks to my PSU bein modular :D the only wires i have that anoy me are from my cathodes and from all my fans, and ihave routed them as best i can

if ya wanna see go to my rig gallery... http://www.sysxtreme.com/rig_gallery.php?do=view&id=235

n i could do with a stacker, cos i got all my stuff crammed in my measly small case and no space for it!

I have the majority of my cables all hidden behind the mobo tray and then route them out the back in the direction they need to go... Some of mine are just plain hard to hide considering I have so much going on in my case (ie. 6 120mm rad fans). Luckily I was able to collect all of the rad fan wires in to one and then run them down a column at the front edge of the mobo tray.

Sleeving is also great, especially for those stupid wires u just can't find a place for, or are too short. Sleeved loose wires > non-sleeved loose wires :)

My wires are crammed behind my HDD's. I have to like push my side panel in multiple places on the back to get it to slide on lolz.

Yeah I had to do the same and I got pissed about it the amount of times I had to take the back of my case off quite a lot and it just got annoying.

If I hauled my PC around a lot then I would have kept the LANBOY, but tbqh - it just got too small and crowded for me :(
