Help installing fan

I bought a Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro and it arrived on saturday.. I had trouble installing it so I asked my dad and he bent the bloody pins on the CPU!!

So my new CPU came today and I want another try.. But the thing is I can't get it hooked over the retention board... Because my Chipset is so close and I can't really get my fingers in. Don't really wanna go taking my PC apart to install it. It does fit. because my socket is 939 AMD 64.

Well it's about careful brute force really. Get one side hooked over then carefully but very firmly apply downward pressure on the other side

Might be worth checking round the CPU area to see if there is something obstructing the cooler itself. Caps sometimes get in the way

Had another go, no luck I can manage to get it over on the left side.. But when I try to put it onto the right side the left side comes off.

Excellent work

Did you get an RMA on the CPU?

If not and it's sitting there I'll take it off your hands
