Im going to write about the events that have happened to me when trying to order parts to build a new PC for home... I had been speaking to a lot of suppliers asking for thier prices and letting them know I was ordering the system on monday the second of July, a lot of suppliers made efforts to get me to buy from them, but I found out that I would work out the best deal If I purchased from two different suppliers... one was ARIA.CO.UK as a lot of the products I was after were on their "SUPERSPECIALS" offer, however I noticed they charge WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much for delivery, I was still happy as It still turned out to be a relatively good deal, the other was ECLIPSE COMPUTERS... now these guys had relatively good pricing and a half decent website, they have had lots of reviews and im sure are not unheard of... I had chosen to buy my RAM, Hard Drive, PSU and DVD/rw from them, I spoke to them on wednesday the week before about these products, then the next day, then friday I mentioned to them that I was buying these products which were all written as "IN STOCK" at the time... the weekend passed and I went to place the order with Aria and them, Aria still had the stock, so did ECLIPSE... on both sites my shopping cart said that there was a delivery charge for next day, which I cheerily placed on both orders as I wanted all the goods the next day... (as you do), the problem came when I got home from work the next day and the parcels were all there ready to be built, I opened them all up and set them up, only to realise that there was nothing sent from ECLIPSE... very strange???? So I tried to get on the phone to them but their lines close when I finish work!!! (great idea) I checked my email on the other computer to see what happened with my order and there was no email from them, luckily I had added their manager onto my msn and I went on there to chat to him... He was still online (lucky)! I asked him what happened to my order, said perhaps its late, he took my order number and got back to me 19 mins later, and said the order didnt ship because 2 items werent in stock.... I WAS MAD!!!! WHEN I PAID FOR THEM THEY WERE IN STOCK (i said to him) and he replied, urm yes, demand was high and now we are minus 7 of the RAM and minus 2 of the PSU... I WAS SO SHOCKED THAT YOU CAN ALLOW YOUR STOCK TO GO MINUS AND CLAIM YOU ARE RELIABLE!!! I asked him why I wasnt contacted, they told me that an email was sent to me... so I kept my mouth shut just in case it hadnt come through yet, he told me that the goods should be with me thursday.... THURSDAY... HE KNEW 8 DAYS BEFORE THAT I HAD LOOKED AT THOSE PRODUCTS... AND THAT I WAS INTERESTED, I COMPLIMENTED HIM ON THE GREAT PRICE, HE THANKED ME AND 8 DAYS LATER WHEN I ORDER HE TOOK MY MONEY.... LET ME PAY A "NEXT DAY DELIVERY CHARGE" AND DIDNT SEND THE GOODS AS OF YET!....

It doesnt finish there my fellow OC3D'ers OH NO!!! I approached him the next morning saying I didnt recieve an email yet and his reply was "OK"..... OK?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! HE THEN TRIED TO CORRECT ME AND TURN IT AROUND AS IF I WAS WRONG FOR THE GOODS NOT ARRIVING, SAYING I NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE SYSTEM... IM SORRY BUT I PURCHASED SOMETHING THAT WAS "IN STOCK".... IT LET ME CONTINUE TO A SHOPPING CART WHERE IT SHOWED THE PRODUCT I WAS PAYING FOR AND THE QUANTITY.... I CLICKED ACCEPT AND GAVE YOU MY MONEY WHICH IS NOW PROBABLY IN YOUR POCKET...... AND I AM SITTING HERE LIKE A F^"%CKING LEMON WITH HALF A COMPUTER AND A BANK ACCOUNT 300 POUNDS SHORT OF MONEY WHERE I HAVE NO GOODS TO PRESENT FOR IT!!!! ITS NOW WEDNESDAY AND THE LAST THING THAT WAS SAID TO ME BEFORE I WAS IGNORED ON MSN WAS... THE GOODS WILL BE WITH YOU TOMORROW... IM SORRY GUYS BUT I AM FU"£"$££CKING MAD THERE IS A MAN SAT AT ECLIPSE WITH MY MONEY AND MY GOODS AND ALL I CAN DO IS WAIT TILL TOMORROW AND "HOPE" JUST "HOPE" IT GETS SENT....

WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS.... WE WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY NOW... AND GIVE YOU THE GOODS WHEN WE GET THEM...

THANKS A LOT ECLIPSE COMPUTERS, YOU ARE NAMED AND SHAMED... I HOPE YOU SEE THIS AND I HOPE EVERYONE SEES THIS AND STOPS BUYING FROM YOU, YOUR ATTITUDE AND YOUR COMPANY SUCKS

SORRY I WROTE AN ESSAY GUYS BUT PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME TO READ THIS AND LEARN THE LESSON I LEARNED... NEVER TRUST A NON OC3D APPROVED RE-SELLER

Sorry to hear that mate. I know how you feel - It makes me VERY mad when I buy something that is showing as "In Stock" when indeed it isn't.

What's even worse is that if you pay on your debit card retailers have the 'upper hand' because they know that if you want a refund, you'll have to wait 3 days for it to come back into your account.

I normally cancel my order and just wait for the refund to arrive out of principal, but its often not the quickest way to get your goods

These days on e-shopping, and quick turnarounds on deliveries, there is very little excuse for showing goods as being in when they`re not.

Only excuseable thing is when a shop shows In Stock 2 items available - or even 1 item, then atleast u know where u stand b4 u order.

This happened to me with the E4300 release at ebuyer. They had like 83 in stock, i ordered one, which never came due to 'no stock', so i check the site and they now have 103 in stock......eh? so i rang up and gave them an ear bashing and got one sent out next day

God, when I first glanced at the title I didn't see the "Non". Gave me a bit of a scare Anyways, sucks that something like that should happen. Thankfully I haven't had to deal with anything like that yet.

as a retailer myself all I can say is while sometimes unacceptable sometimes us retailers are lied to as well, we get promised due dates that then slip, or other unforseen problems (OCZ spring to mind at the moment) all we can do is relay this info on to you.

It sucks, trust me it really sucks, we hate it as much as the end user, it causes us nothing but grief and agro, never the manufacturer or the distributor, always the retailer that gets it in the neck all I can suggest it being calm and cool when speaking to them, if your reasonable they're more likely to bend over backwards to help you out rather than coming on the phone calling people every name under the sun, threatening to drive down and beat you up (trust me it's happened), most suppliers are also users and understand what a right pita it is to be without new bits....

There's a million scenarios I could go in to to show different sides of the coin but it'd end up in a 50 page essay all I will say is there is not 1 supplier, I guarantee not 1, in the UK that actually stocks everything they say they do.

In no way am I sticking up for your bad experience but I am showing the flip side of the coin.

I have experienced a few woes with Eclipse too....

Ended up having Royal Mail issues to sort out with that order too....don't venture there anymore....I much prefer the appraoch taken by companies like Specialtech....have used em loads over the last 12 months....

BIG UP THE SOLVA MASSSSEEEEF!
