OC3D Community team?

had a thought about this last nite and sed to a few on vent last nite, but i got ignored

so thought id post up. reli its just seeing a few teams with community teams and as we have a fair amount of ppl hu play css and ask to join the clan, might make them feel even more part of the oc3d team, depending on how it goes, maybe make 1 CL and just enter then into a league, if anything it would help advertise the site even more, which must be good.

As long as it doesn't have the disastrous results of the USA team, I think it would be pretty cool to see.

There are quite a few members that might to join but dont feel quite good enough to play. A community team could be handy for them to play together and get a few matches in and generally get a feel of match play

Isn't a community team just a glorified mix team?

I think it's a good idea and it would be interesting to see how the skills of people differ.

Everyone who plays, get on IRC (quakenet) and join the #overclock3d room

then we can organise a few matches. Or if you are in a team, challenge us via IRC. (less pressure to win if it's friendly and also possibly = instant game)

I think we should put a rotation server up again? or a dust2 one?

Especially now the A-Team is going to be active in ED and the B-Team are active in ClanBase

Also there seems to be loads of cheating kids on most other publics atm

a community team isnt a glorified mix team, its a community team lol, so just like our team but just bigger rosters.

not sure about bringing the publics back, as they wernt active before, if we did id suggest removing the gg server maybe

And ur always guna get hackers eq, just think of it as a challenge, ul improve that way

aw, you can't get rid of the GG server. It's always rather full in the daytime.

A community team would help raise awareness to all the servers, and hopefully boost numbers.

We were talking about this last night and there isnt any good Public D2 servers anymore, I think OC3D could capture a great deal of D2 players with a good server.

I would love to give the USA team another try, can't now without a Frag server, and the rest of us not having the speed, power, or funds or all of the above to run one.

I know there will always be cheaters

I just said about cheaters because if we brought back the OC3D servers we would have control over it and ban the cheaters. I know ham has said in previous threads that he has banned loads on the gungame server and the deathmatch server.

I agree, the gungame server is norm full of kids or cheats and if anything it's doing OC3D's reputation harm.

I think the publics went quiet before because they went down for a while and also OC3D were inactive

With us being more active in leagues and mixes etc, we should be able to get more people and advertise our sponsors. As hyper said, there aren't really any decent publics. The one I norm play on seems to have been overrun with cheaters and no-one is banning or kicking them.
