Yup saw this @ XS and I was friggin' blown away. Thats some of the coolest software I think we've seen in 20 years.

Such a simple idea. U can envisage the collections of peoples photos coming together to give u a mass of photos of 1 subject that enhances the way u can look at the subject as a whole.
U could almost pair the last bit with having a 3d game model of an environment, and u`r using textures (in this case photos) to skin it.
I don`t know about it`s future tho, as it stands, but I think people are more interested in aquiring the tech used to do it.

that looks very impressive ... the demo on the web doesn't do it justice as I was rather under-awed when I saw that ... I just watch that TED video and ... yeah ... it rocks!

However I had not seen that vid either ... again looks more impressive in action than the articles I had read ... and I suppose the two could be linked together to good effect.

Wow, just watched the video. That is some seriously clever software and really does, for once, look like something that will change networking and the internet massively.
Imagine being able to get a 3D scape of your holiday destination, compiled from satellite images and the holiday snaps of everyone who has ever been there
