Think I`m having a bit of a brain fart.
Thing I missing is purchasing an empty external caddie, ala IceBox effortish, and stick u`r own internal drive in it.
Or is it the fact this is off-the-shelf 1TB ?

formatted a 320Gb drive last night and had time to spare making dinner whilst it was going on.
formatting 1Tb - you could probably go on holiday and be back in time to see the 100% bar.
