Nintendo Wii in short supply down under

Lo Lads, time for a vent....

Righty ho, well the missus finally gave me the ok to purchase the kids a Wii (considering I'd only approached her about the subject when they first came out :crazy Anyway, I thought jeez it's gonna be tight getting one right after Xmas, but surely to god some retailers would have some within their various outlets. After hopping on the phone to Coles/Myer, EB, Targets, Kmart, Big W, JB HiFi, WoW sight and sound, GameTraders and about 20,000,000 others; there is apparently not one bloody console in the whole of the country. Evidently, I have heard hear-say that Nintendo aren't expecting to be able to deal with the backlog until early Feb 2007, I mean c'mon....! So then I jump on Ebay, and there are a truckload of pirates wanting to sell the standard sports edition for overly inflated prices (read AUS$600 :banghead: ) They retail for AUS$388 at the stores listed above. Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!! Is there anyone out there who can source me a Wii pls, without it costing me an arm and a leg for shipping? Any effort would be greatly appreciated, feel free to either PM or msn

I'm really good friends with the store manager of EB Games in my shopping center, I can have him hold one for me on the next shipment if ya want me to. But just keep in mind that shipping is going to be outrageous.

yes everyone I have said "yes" to pv getting his wii. Now i just hope that he will be happy. I hope it will be worth it also, cause I want to play. lol.

In reply to Aussie mum, you should have given the go ahead earlier, my missus loves it, only drawback is her arms are aching off the boxing ( she is pretending it is me )

Edit, have you looked into the regions? I think we are in different regions which means you would only be able to play American games.

Hey PV, I know this is tough nd all but rumor has it that after the holisay season prolly in February or springish time, they are going to drop the Wii prices down to $200 (USD) and make all other colors available at the same time, IMO it's really worth it to wait.
