WowWee's robots...

WowWee is the creator of the well known "Robosapien".

Well, I was looking at the new (not that new) line of robots, and it's pretty amazing.

The Robosapien V2 body is an amazing mechatronic device, and the infrastructure for further development/"hacking" is just beautiful.

For the youngsters it's a very cool toy.

For the teens it's a very nice way to learn the "secrets" of robotics and mechatronic design.

And of course for the more knowledgeable of us, it's a perfect base for applying mechanic and electronic designs.

I'm trying to convince my professor to get some of these new Robosapien V2, Roboreptile, Roboraptor and Robopet (and maybe an RS Media) for our class!

I was wondering if any of you guys have one/some of these?

The mechanic design of the body itself is VERY sophisticated, but very cheap to produce.

There is also a cheaper "Mini Roboraptor", it's pretty nice (The price is about 15 euro).

EDIT:

There isn't any REAL stock of Mini Roboraptors in north america (maybe you will find one on the discovery store), but there is a "Special Edition" from discovery of the Mini Roboreptile (more advance than the Mini Roboraptor) on Amazon.com for $17.95 (It has cool colors!).

Mini models are a bit less sophisticated, but sure are great (and small)!

If you're in eastern Canada you might want to hit robotshop.ca to see if they have any stock.
