how does that vacuum look like ?

those you find on this side of the pond dont have a belt.

its basicly only a eletric motor with a fan attach directly to it which sucks air through a paperbag.

These have brushes on the bottom that rotate, plus suction.

Theres ours, a Hoover Widepath Plus. Even has a built in HEPA filter, its a nice unit.

You don't want to see the vacuums we use here in the navy. They are all pneumatic since the navy is all about safety and they don't want you to be shocked when sucking up water! Yeah right. They do work VERY well though, better than any other vacuum I have ever seen. They also cost $4,500 each and are a pain in the arse to move around at about 50lbs each.

The bad thing is I could see alot of people actually doing something like that. Tweaking a vacuum motor to provide more suction power and other things to come

I get Dirt devil. They rock...very loud just the way I like my computer. Bagless is the way to go. And yes my vaccume does have belts cuz its got the brush on the bottom also.

Dyson is way overpriced. If you do some looking you can find a nice vaccume for 1/2 the price of a dyson. All your paying for is the TV advertisment. Just my 2 cents on that
