I had a quiet word with the owner of the bike store. A really nice and tidy genuine guy, he seemed to be amazingly understanding about it, which is comforting to know. He didnt have a clue about the wrapping etc, which is understandable with them being a bike shop after all, not a phase rebuilding company that does some of the most terrible work possible.
I had a word and he was on about Pete simply doing some freelance work, which is better tbh because i wouldnt want to put pete down on my books of employees.
I will be keeping up to date with the owner of the store with all of this unravelling
I am going to email him some links and he will stay in touch with me over a few things also.
Little update for you all which i thought you might find interesting.

auch......that sounds weird. from my conversations with him in another forum he seemed to be very cie and helpful...its a shame, but u should get ur money back, life hazard man!

I think he's on Techpowerup mate, sure I saw the name floating round on there
EDIT: just been looking, not sure if it was on there now, as I can't find him. I know I saw his name on another forum last week and he wasn't banned

yep they banned him too mate, some times he was helpfull but theres alot of other reason why we all banned him that dont need going into

Ive had a refund for my money which I paid him for the work, but im not letting my hopes build up of this being sorted until he corrects the problem with the unit or sorts it out via dhl and gets some resolution made up.
But at least having the unit and my money back is a start...
