Excellent review!

Quick question if I may. What version of Vista did you base your findings on, 32bit or 64bit? I notice W7 was 32bit but what about Vista?

If Vista was 64bit then that may explain some drop in performance for W7.

I plan on doing a system comparison so I'll do 64bit as well. I need to find myself a power meter for my system though. Could be a couple of days.

Maybe another advantage over Vista that many are overlooking.

If like myself u do all ur work/web stuff on another computer, I use Leopard for example, the only reason u want the windows install is for launching games.

Now although the above comparisons are on regular installs, I'm thinking windows 7 allows u to remove more stuff than Vista - now that I would be interested in.

That alone could tip the balance as a game platform.

Maybe. I think it's just a driver issue. They'll fix it soon enough.
