Does this mean you won't need 6 pin PCI-e connector?

not bad, but people who buy those expensive cards nowadays want performance, if its not cheaper than the other versions i dont know if many people will buy it. less wats = lower clock since its the same gpu afterall...

work in this area may help with the top end products, well a decrease in power consumption.

I don't like that kind of tweaking

But then, this card is obviously not aimed at overclockers. What I don't understand is why they don't enable separate 2D/3D clocks for all their cards, instead of trying to sell us crippled versions (probably for the same price).
