Dunno but cooling sections are dead
Odd suggestion, but I think you all need to gain some more interest in cooling. It's an overclocking forum, overclocking takes cooling, thus you should love cooling :P
If you don't beleive me, ask the hypnotoad.

Tis true... Not that much activity.
Thing is when people set up their new rigs they tend to do a project log which includes all of their cooling set-up too.

Most people air cool, a lot water cool, no body uses tecs anymore, I don't know anyone on here who uses phase 24/7 or at all really, no one has dice/ln2...
I think most activity revolves around 'will this setup work'
I dabbled with tec but didn't like the hassle for the gains so I got rid of it. Phase wasn't an option for 24/7 as I turn my rig on and off and didn't want pin rot. Dice/ln2 is costly in the UK.
I hear what you are saying but I don't think there are any hard core overclockers here, just enthusiasts... I'm only interested in what is relevant to me...

I'll have to get off my ass and finish what I'm working on. Post up a nice long log for that. Maybe it'll inspire some people as NoLs do to me .
And Smith, dice is actually cheap as, you just have to live in the right area for shipping not to kill it. But yeah, TECs are a total waste of time.

Dice is pretty cheap by the kg but you need that special alcohol stuff (£60 when I looked) to make the slush puppy and the pot (£120+) of course, so it's not really that cheap to get into to mess about... I wanted to have a bash but it all seemed like too much hassle!

Pots you can make yourself for ~£30-40 as long as you got a few tools.
Acetone - decent amount wont cost more than £20
10kg of Dice is can be had for £30, then add what ever delivery is, then VAT. As i said you have to live in the right area though. Delivery to London was like £5, delivery to me was £95 .
Add say £10-20 for insulation.
So it could be done for £150 say.

Not bad. Luckily I'm v. close to London now but I've gotta be honest, I don't have the time or inclination to bother!

See this is the kinda thing we need in the cooling section. Not in a thread about how dead the section is .
