gtx2XXprice drops already
Was just having a look on Scan after reading the Tom's Hardware review for the 4870, and chuckling to myself. Noticed some rather big price cuts:
GTX280 down to as little £340 Clickity
GTX260 down to £217 Clickity

Sites (the ones who brush lightly across the text inside their nVidia NDAs) did say a fair while b4 release that the cards would come out and within weeks get a reduction. A fair reduction.
Kinda adds to my comments about the review we had shortly after release ATI vS nVidia that included the idea of cost per fps.

nVidia were going to have to do something 'cause the 4870X2 is going to kick arse.

Meh, I`d rather compare x2 with x2 and see how the 4870x2 compares to the GT280x2 (or whatever they choose to call it).
If an x2 doesn`t top a single card today, there`s something wrong with the x2.

With the prices of the GTX280 the way they are, I wouldn't even wanna think how much an X2 model would be.

Probably close to the current nVidia`s x2, seeing as at that time the GT380 (or whatever) will be just around the corner. Similarly the GT280s will be a jump cheaper, and there may even be a consolidatory GT290/285 or something.
Comparing the 4870x2 to the 9800x2 would be fine imo.

I was 1 click from buying one at $650 then I had to go sort something out and when I went back to it the prices had dropped. Got my XFX 280 with free Assassins Creed on the way for umm $530..
