dual quad core!
thinkimg of getting 2x opteron quad 2352's....has anyone else gone this route on the asus 'quadfather trail'?
i like the idea of 8cores etc...i have the /b vers bios to hand,but i had heard that it would not always be needed....also,must i deffo get ECC ram?again...i had heard that it is not always the case.
any help be great....if i have to change ram and mobo i may as well get complete new setup!!!

hmmm....
....kinda trying to support AMD(someone gotta!!) on this one heh. "i like my dinosaur!!!" lol!
they may be slower/hotter blah blah....but mine have always been reliable as hell.
never tried intel admitedly,maybe one day.
skulltrail will be so expensive,but amd route will cost me £400 delivered http://www.techstore.co.uk/browse.ph...dLineID=130185 ....a good option for me!!

well....
...its not primarily for gaming.its a render 3d rig really!
3d studio will eat 8 cores np....its a bad prog!!
will also upgrade ram to 8gb but i think i will try the non ecc to see if it works etc.
also plan to make all storage disks on her 1tb so i should see 7TB + 74gb raptor for c lol!

hmmm....
....not sure if this is any good?
super pi 1M = 30secs
32M = 25mins 45secs
not bad i think,i could only see the prog using 2 cores so maybe it could be better?
