Dont know if it's worth pointing out, but if you put crysis into "very high" mode on an XP/dx9 machine (need to edit a file), it looks pretty much identical to the "directx 10" version on vista. i.e. the difference appears to be pseudo

or there's the "natural" mod for crysis which makes it look absolutely amazing! (dx9 and 10)

I know about changing the .cfg files and it improves dx9 but having used that then moved to dx10 it isn't the same.

Screenshots don't show the true beauty

Thanks for the natural heads up, I'm installing that right now¬!

hmm. I dual boot between both, and while there are small differences, I couldnt say one looks better than the other, both looks pretty amazing. One thing I do know is it runs better under DX9 (for me anywau)

i agree.

ive switched to vista full time now.

i had a duel boot system for ages but realized that i did not go into xp for months as i find vista and dx10 just a lot more vivid.

its hard to explain unless you have seen the differance but i find my pc experience just so much more pleasing to the eye.

i know that there is a performance hit in games but i think its worth it (although i dont play many games any more as im sick of the newer titles (im playing half life2 ep1 again at the moment).
