1st true dolby digital pass through pci card!

Up until now the only way to get surround sound through an av receiver in games via coax / optical was the soundstorm chip that came with the nforce2 chipset.

Hitec (a korean audio company) are releaseing a new pci card that will do it!!!

Ive always been surprised that the ep buch werent audiophiles as well, but after this card is out ill be able to get hl2 comming thru in surrond with my riddiculous audio system. n1c3

omg, couldnt have seen this at a better time just as im starting to have sound with my on board sound too . im currently using optical and wouldnt go back ever, i run all my sounds through my amplifier too so im thinking on investing in one of these ;p

(problem i get is crackling while playing music its fine but in game it starts)

Souhnds impressive - but my card has surround including THX 7.1 coming through 3.5mm jack ports and my logitech speakers (as good as they are) do not have the optical port?

There is talk the the new revison of NF4 (SLI in x16 PCI-E) will have soundstorm back on it.

S'good... socketed OPAMPS so you can upgrade them if you're a true audiophile... Altho not worth taking the MOTU Opamps out to stick in it... they're needed more in the MOTU where they belong...

I have had this card for a while now, very happy with it; as my first seperate soundcard I have ever owned It sounds extremely good to me. I have it connected optically to my Yamaha RX-V450 playing through my wharfedales and I have had no problems so far.

Bought it the first day it was available though, cost me £70 *eek*

Can you explain how to do this to me in more detail please (or at least show me a link to somewhere explaining it) ? Improving sound quality even furthur sounds great!
